Reasons for historical high

A push above 20,000 is a historical high for Sensex. A classical look at momentum would only suggest that prices are pushing into overbought territory, but like everything else in technical analysis even momentum fails to harness  trends at all  degrees of time. This is why one needs to look at momentum  differently.
How do we look at momentum?
